R&D Management

As the leading genetics lab in Taiwan focusing on personalized preventive medicine and early diagnosis, GGA aims to grow its portfolio vertically along the human life cycle by expanding its services from prenatal arena to adult genetics, and horizontally based on the new development of science and technology, such as NGS-based testing.

With precision medicine in mind, we have advanced our development from pharmacogenomics to next-generation sequencing, SNP array, as well as other testing platforms to provide more and meaningful information for personalized clinical care management.

  • 2015 Annual Conference of Taiwanese Society for Reproductive Medicine

GGA R&D team assists Center for Reproductive Medicine and Sciences, Taipei Medical University Hospital, to do the clinic research project and the result has been published at 2015 Annual Conference of Taiwanese Society for Reproductive Medicine.  This paper has won the third prize in Clinical Medicine section of Prize Paper Presentations.

Paper: “NGS-based PGS is superior to array CGH-PGS in comprehensive aneuploidy screening of human blastocysts from patients undergoing IVF treatment”

    Conclusion:
Our findings demonstrated the potential of the NGS-based protocol for whole chromosome aneuploidy and segmental aneuploidy detection in blastocysts. The advantage of NGS-based PGS is: (1) easy to distinguish mosaic aneuploidy than aCGH. (2) the further resolution of deletion may could be than 10 Mb in NGS-based PGS. (3) NGS-based PGS could avoid interruption of hybridization variance of aCGH. In conclusions, NGS-based PGS may ultimately find a place in routine clinical use in comprehensive aneuploidy screening.
